A tribute to onion rings

I love onion rings. In fact, I love onions! I never appreciated what they add to food until I moved into my apartment, where one of my roommates is allergic to them...not just eating them...she even reacts to the smell). As a result, we don't have any oniony foods in our apartment. I've found that it's really hard to find food that doesn't have onions in them! Now when I go out to eat, I don't say, "hold the onions!" I don't even pick them off my sandwich. I EAT them! Yum!Last week I was put in charge of bringing fried cauliflower to a party. My roommate Annie and I went to Lon's Cookin Shack in Provo to get the cauliflower (did you know they sell fried cauliflower at Lon's Cookin Shack in Provo?) While waiting to order we decided to order onion rings. Yes we were on our way to a party. Yes there was going to be a lot of food there. But we REALLY needed some onions. We had both had a really long day at work, and I well you what...those onion rings were DELICIOUS!!! We were so happy as we sat out in the driveway of the house where the party was being held.Moral of the story: onion rings make Shannon happy!

Note: I know this post was grammatically awful, but I don't care :)

Close call...

This morning I went to the temple with Carie. When I went down to my car, I saw that the car next to mine had a shattered window. That is the most sickening feeling! As you may recall, my old car was broken into last May (at the time I wrote a stellar letter to the thief and took pictures). I didn't realize until I got back from the temple that it was my roommate's fiance's car that was broken into. He parks his car in our underground parking while he is at our apartment each night. Last night we got back from picking up a pizza at about 8:30pm. Sometime between then and about 1am when he left, someone had smashed in his window. They opened the trunk and took everything...his laptop, his backpack, and his rollerblades (apparently the police officer got a kick out of that).

This isn't the first break-in of the year. There have been four in the past two weeks. Last year the same streak happened. When we called the management, their response was "Well, don't leave anything in your car that a thief could see." Well now they are just hitting random cars and checking their trunk without knowing if anything is in there! It freaks me out because mine was right next to his! And it's odd because his car isn't all that nice...it's kind of old. We're guessing the person picked that one because it doesn't have an alarm?

Anyway, I'm freaked out. Stupid people who have nothing better to do than break into cars and take stuff so they can sell it so they can get drugs!

6th picture on the 6th file

As promised, here is the 6th picture on the 6th file on my home computer.(Left to Right: AJ, Sharla, Jodi, me, Laura, Carie)

This was from July 2006. It was the first annual Massive Moab Trip that some guys in our ward have done every year since. A big group of us went to Moab for a couple of days to camp and hike. This was when we were about to head back to Provo, and obviously we were tired (well, not Laura...she is the energizer bunny) :) It rained the whole time we were there...until the last couple of hours. It was actually kind of nice...it kept us cool! (and let's be honest, it covered up the fact that we were really sweaty) :)

Tagged!

So my sister Tammy tagged me on this thing. I thought it was fun, but I'm on my school computer and I don't have many pictures on there. You're supposed to go to your pictures and find the 6th folder and the 6th picture within there and blog about it. Since I only have one file of pictures on this computer, I'm just doing the 6th picture...For the safety of my students, their faces have been masked...ha ha! Sometimes we have time at the end of class for my students to play with scraps. These 7th grade boys thought it would be fun to be superheroes...so funny!

When I get home, I'll get on my computer and find another picture on there...and I'll wait to tag some of you until then. :)

I got a new phone!

It's going to take a while to get used to it, but I think I'm going to like my LG enV2. I can type on it! And it's red like my old phone :) I'm so excited!
