It's Halloween Time!

Well, it's been 6 months since I've put anything on here! :) I just thought I'd give you a quick update on my life!

Two weeks ago I went to California to visit Natalie! She's always an amazing hostess and more than willing to take you to Disneyland! Disneyland was all decked-out for Halloween, and it was so much fun! We had a little too fun in line for some of the rides. Follow this link to see what I mean :) ...

I also had my first encounter with the game Guitar Hero. If you haven't played it, you're missing out! Jeremy left his game with Natalie, so we had to make good use of it. :)
The trip was really fun, but I had to come back to reality! School is going really well. The end of the first term was yesterday! I can't believe I'm 1/4 done with the year! It's getting busy though because a couple girls I work with are having babies very soon, so lucky Shannon gets to take on some of their responsibilities! Apparently I'm not busy enough, so I needed some more work (but not more pay...how does that work? :) )

I still try to have a little fun now and then. Football games are always fun...even if it does snow like crazy! There was a full-on blizzard last week!I also did something else this week...I finally got contacts! My glasses broke a couple weeks ago, and I was kind of tired of not seeing! It's really exciting to poke myself in the eyes everyday (I hate touching my eyes!) but it's very nice to be able to see again! I'm getting faster at putting them in. My roommate Kristen works at an optometrist office, so she was the one that got to help me put them in for the first time!Last night our ward had a big Halloween party at a barn up in American Fork. There were some really funny costumes. My neighbor dressed up as a trophy wife (see the link below to see a picture) and my roommate Kristen dressed up as roadkill. :) I kept with my traditional Statue of Liberty. Considering how this is the 3rd year I've worn it, I should probably do something different next year! I'll wear it again on Wednesday when I get to help with the Halloween Bash after school!

Well, that's pretty much my life. Not too exciting, but it keeps my busy! Hope you're all doing well!

Disneyland!!!

Someday when I have more time (24 days until school is out! 17 school days!), I will write more about my trip to California. Natalie and I had so much fun, and she is quite the host! I highly recommend a visit to see her if you haven't already done so! We had fun at California Adventure and Disneyland. The pictures of the flowers were at the flower fields right up the road from where she works. They were amazing! Anyway, as soon as school gets out, I'll write more fun stories about it (like all the rain!)

Graduation pictures

I think I figured out this whole photo album thing. I attached all of the pictures I have from last weekend's graduation festivities. I'm sorry my camera died, so I don't have any pictures from Grandma's party. Thank you so much again for coming. It was so fun to have a little adult weekend (with the exception of the two cuties, Jenna and Sophia!) Let me know if you have any problems accessing the pictures. Actually, if you do have problems, I don't really know what to do...so I don't know if that will help. :o)

Coughing, coughing, and more coughing!

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if my roommate moves out in the next couple days. With all of my coughing, not only am I up all night, but I'm sure she is too! I spent most of Saturday on the couch as I watched TV with a couple other friends who were also feeling a bit miserable. I came home to find out that my roommate had gotten engaged that night! I was so proud because I helped him pick out the ring (it's beautiful!), and she had no clue! On Sunday I made it through sacrament meeting (where we got a new Bishopric!), but I was seeing starts and had a bit of a fever, so I went home. :o) The sick party has continued all week, with the increased intensity of the coughing, so it's been interesting teaching. :o)

Well, I just got out of a meeting with my principal. He had observed me teaching a couple weeks ago, and wanted to give feed-back. I don't mean to brag, but he didn't really have anything bad to say about me. He said he is very impressed with how I've done as a first year teacher. He asked if I was planning on coming back next year because he really wants me to come back. Yay for job security! My mentor keeps saying she'll do all she can to keep me here, but if the principal already said he wants me, I feel pretty good about that! I told him this has been the craziest/hardest thing I've ever done in my life and that 3 months ago I would have hesitated to say I would come back. But it's getting much better and I'm even starting to like it! :o) (shocking, I know...especially for those of you who were in Utah in October to see my freak-out at Grandma's) :o)
Anyway, here are a couple pictures for you from school. This one is from the restaurant we did a couple week ago. We were talking about Marketing, so we had a restaurant where first half of the students were diners at a restaurant, and the other half were workers....such as managers, cooks, servers, cashiers, etc. We just had breadsticks with sauce and orange julius. It was a bit stressful, but lots of fun!

This was my amazing door for the Christmas door decorating contest. A couple of my students helped me make it. We were all bitter that I didn't win, because it really was the best. :o)

These are some of my kids who scared me on the last day of class last semester. I asked them to fold the towels, and they burried Cade in the pile. When I walked by he jumped out and scared me to death! So fun. :o)
Anyway, back to work I go. Hopefully I can go home early so I can go to bed! I hope all of you are doing well. Cherilyn, I hope your Birthday was fabulous (and Amy, I hope yours was great a couple weeks ago too!) I love you all!
Shannon
P.S. I hope that those of you who are 24 watchers are enjoying this season as much as I am so far. :o) Jack is back!

I'm a blogger!

Well Paul, you inspired me. I thought I'd create a blog to post some pictures because everyone keeps telling me that I need to send pictures! Plus I got an amazing camera for Christmas from Santa, so I thought I'd show off its skills! :o) I'm not smart enough to create a link to the pictures, so I'm just going to put them on this page. :o)
Well, I'm enjoying my day off today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I just wish it were at least 50 degrees warmer! Right now it's about -10 degrees. Mom and Dad, I know this is still warmer than what you've been dealing with this week, but it's still cold enough! We even woke up to ice-covered windows! (Yes, the ice is on the inside of our windows)
I'll post another blog about school later, but here are some pictures of my past couple weeks. I spent New Year's Eve at my old roommate Katie's condo at Snowbird Resort. Her whole extended family goes up there every year for Christmas, so there was a lot to do! We had fun playing games and chatting all night. Katie's little brothers even decorated me and named me Miss 2007!
Some of you might remember my old roommate, Kristen. She just got back from her mission in Japan. She actually went to the same mission where Collin Lacey is going! She's living with me again. We've had fun catching up during the past few weeks. We've been going to BYU basketball and volleyball games, and we even got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow! :o) This giant cut-out belongs to her sister-in-law. I couldn't resist a picture!
