Say my name, say my name

When I'm at school, I expect to be called Miss Lacey, and usually just "Lacey" by the super cool 9th graders.  In fact, I usually don't think to respond when I hear "Shannon" at school.

But sometimes in the world out of school, people get confused and don't know the difference between my first and last name.

Everyone thinks my first name is Lacey.

I got a voicemail today that said, "Hi Lacey, this is...."

Every time I go to the chiropractor, I hear, "Okay, Lacey...come on back."

Sometimes I don't even notice, especially if I'm still in school mode.

Sometimes I don't even correct them.

It's a good thing I like my last name.

But I do kind of hope I marry a guy who has a classic last name that wouldn't be so confusing!

For some reason when I went to leave a comment the only thing that came to my mind was, "Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?"

Somehow that translated to a comment about names. Not sure how. :)

I love your last name, and I'm still waiting for you to open that store.

When I was dating Lincoln it was at the end of my internship year, and of course I was used to everyone calling me "Fielding"

What made it hard was that Lincoln has a younger brother named Fielding, who was his roommate at the time.

I ALWAYS got mixed up! HA!

I love your last name.

Be careful hoping for a husband with a classic name. I went from "Lacey? Oh that's cute!" to "Anderson, is that with an o-n or an e-n?" BORING!!

Shannon, you know your husband has to take your last name, so you guys can open that store! He pretty much does not have a choice...
