My spiritual gift

My roommates and I have AMAZING home teachers. They faithfully come to visit us once a month...and we usually see them several times throughout the month as well! A few months ago (before I moved in) they had a lesson on spiritual gifts and apparently told my roommates what they thought one of their spiritual gifts is. They were written on our white board in our hallway as a reminder. When I moved in, I was kind of bummed that I didn't have one, so I asked them if they would come up with one for me. They said they'd think of it and get back to me. So now here is what our board reads...

Cheryl: Courage

Alisha: Happiness

Annie: Pure Testimony

(all semi-serious so far, right?)...

Shannon: Appropriate Sense of Humor

Oh I laughed so hard! The fact that my other roommates have these semi-serious ones...then mine is about having an appropriate sense of humor...makes me laugh! Every time I look at it, I giggle!

It comes down to the fact that I am sometimes a goofball and often feel like I can't control my actions or the words that come out of my mouth...but at least they're appropriate!

Seattle, here I come!

That's right...I just bought a ticket to Seattle! My sister Cherilyn sent me a text last night telling me about a Southwest sale...50% off to Seattle! Yay for spring break! I can't wait to see my sister Tammy and her cute family...especially since I'll be there for Rachel's birthday!

Don't forget to check my post below to help me with my phone dilema :)

Any phone ideas?!

It's hard to believe that it has been two years since I got this beauty of a red phone! It's been a descent phone...especially since I got a new battery that last longer than 2 minutes! It is slow and freezes up sometimes, but it has seen me through the past two years. With Verizon, I get a new phone every two years...and my two years are up on February 10th! (yay!!! I'm so excited!)

So now the problem comes of wondering which phone to get! I NEED YOUR HELP!
Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of phone to get? Or even what kind to not get (if you've had a bad experience with one.) I know I probably won't be lucky enough to get a pretty red one again, but any suggestions would be GREAT!!!

I like to hike!

When we got back from Christmas break a couple weeks ago, my roommate Annie and I were bummed that we had to go back to school. So we had to start making plans for Martin Luther King Jr Day to keep us motivated to make it until the next "big" break! When she asked what we wanted to do, the first thing that came sputtering out of my mouth was "snow shoeing!" I've never been before, but I really want to! Hiking is one of my very favorite things to do during the summer, and I'm trying to make myself love snow, so I thought this would do it! Well, it hasn't snowed for a few days (which I am NOT complaining about!), and we wanted to snow shoe on new snow, so we went for regular hiking in the snow for today!
We had so much fun! I went with Annie and three of her siblings (Jason, Jared, and Kaylee) as well as our friend Sam. We just went on a short hike (it was cold...we didn't want to be out for too long!) up this little canyon thing in Pleasant Grove. Annie and Jason had been up there in the summer and said there was a cool little waterfall, so we thought we'd go see what it was like during the winter! The pictures don't show how cool it was, but it was amazing!
